China's Geely working on electric Panda

China's Geely Motors is evidently working on an
electric version of its Panda mini-car. Geely CEO
Li Shu Fu recently told an interviewer that he
doesn't expect electric cars to replace internal
combustion any time soon, but the company is
nonetheless moving in that direction. China Car
Times is reporting that this Geely LC-E is actually
a low-speed electric car, with a top speed of only
40 mph. So far we don't know if Geely will be back
at theDetroit Auto Show but with five automakers
now having dropped out, chances are good we might
see this one here.
